After selling their orchard, our clients wanted to design their next home in the classic NZ villa style. They approached Heritage Homes Far North and Arcline Architecture was included at this point to assist in the design and plans of this heritage beauty, located in picturesque Kerikeri, Northland. 

The home is a true testament to design ingenuity, offering a harmonious fusion of traditional charm and modern sophistication.  A true design success story that blends contemporary 21st century styling in the quintessential New Zealand villa.

Right from the start, as you enter the driveway, you see clean lines and balance.  There is symmetry in the matching pillars at the gate, the size of windows, doors, chimneys.  The dark grey vertical base boards match the dark grey Colorsteel roof.  The contrasting white James Hardie Linea Oblique cladding sets the tone of timeless tradition.

Then there is the additional detail.  Boxed exterior corners on the exterior walls.  White verandah posts and colonial decorative features on the stairs’ balustrade.  The verandahs are deep and boast hardwood decking and raking ceilings that reveal exposed rafters.  The identical chimneys are clad in EZPanel and trimmed with a custom made chimney cowl. 

Inside, the interiors are a masterpiece of design, featuring timber accents, glossy white cabinetry, and open shelves that add a touch of contemporary elegance.  The colours in shared spaces are a natural palette but the owners have taken the time to individualise personal spaces.  And then there are finishes reminiscent of something old, something new;  an example the brass faucet over the modern bathroom basin.

The rooms are well proportioned, and every room leads out to the verandah, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living.

Behind the house there is the delightful surprise of a hot tub and more outdoor living amenities where the family can relax and entertain.

This is definitely one traditional, classic and classy abode.
