Karikari Peninsula Residence
An idyllic slice of farmland in the Far North is the setting for this stylish, modern home. Arcline had the pleasure of designing it and, with the skilful aesthetics and textures introduced by interior designer Aleysha Pangari, this house certainly pops the wow factor.
To reach the home, there is a large drive through a portico, the underside clad with cedar sarking and supported by a large stone clad wall. The oversized pivot front door by Metalier is a statement in itself whilst inviting you into this beautiful home.
Inside, one cannot help but be mesmerised. We take in the height of the lobby, the floating Ackworth House staircase, as well as the large format tiles and feature lighting spanning the full height of the interior two storey height walls.
Upstairs is the master suite with its private lounge and bar. The bedroom is large with a beautifully designed open wardrobe area and bathroom. And it is perhaps here we see the star of the show – a freestanding bathtub with views of the Pacific Ocean.
But this is a home for family so upstairs includes a bunk room for the grandchildren. Downstairs there are more bedrooms, a double garage, and the kitchen, dining and living areas. These have direct access to the outdoor area and pool.
A fully stocked bar sits alongside one living space, connected to the dining area with a double sided fireplace, which leads to the kitchen featuring a huge island and super, functional scullery tucked behind it.
Separate to this is the media room – and it too opens up to the outdoor area. The outdoor area boasts automatic blinds, a pizza oven, fireplace and other cooking options for BBQ evenings.
Running parallel with the home is the pool and its louvre-roofed pool cabana.
The lawns extend beyond the pool to meet up with the edge of the hillside, allowing us to take in the magnificent views of the ocean.
Whilst having phenomenal views of the water, the design of this house ensures privacy. It is not easily seen. The low slung 3 degree hip rooflines, large eave overhangs clad in cedar, and the surrounding mature landscaping, ensure this home remains camouflaged as it blends in with the landscape.
