The Arcline Team have been working tirelessly over the last year to complete a Retirement Architecture project for the new Arvida Kerikeri Retirement Village – ‘Te Puna Waiora’.
Picking up the project from the Resource Consent stage, we’ve undertaken all detailed drawings for the first four stages of the project to date.
We have designed and consented an excess of 100 villas for the retirement development. Each villa has been designed to suit best practice aged care principles and have a modern feel and design taste both on the exterior and interior.
Architecture For Aged Care – Feeling At Home
The joy of living in a villa specifically designed for the older generations is that everything has been thought of. Positions of taps, handles, level entry through doorways, and many other small yet important features have been considered.
It’s also important to make sure the villas feel modern, so with the use of white painted bagged brick and stone the whole village will feel fresh and new, the design being perfectly timeless.
Kerikeri – The Retirement Capital Of New Zealand?
If you’ve ever been to Kerikeri, you’ll see why this is quickly becoming the case, with a large proportion of retirees heading to the town which still has a ‘village’ feel to it.
With Bay of Islands only 20 minutes away, 40 minutes to Doubtless Bay and an airport with five flights a day to Auckland, the town is secluded, yet connected, and has everything you need to retire.
Many retirement villages are already established and operating in Kerikeri, and the new Arvida village will be the latest to begin selling.
Our Aged Care Design Experience
The Arcline Teams experience spans a long way back in the aged care/retirement village design arena. We’ve worked with Metlifecare on a number of their villages and the Kerikeri Retirement Village, giving us a well rounded skillset. Aside from this, we’ve fully designed various private gated communities, including Orchard Estate and Inlet Estate in the Kerikeri region.
