Florance Ave Residence, Russell
The inspiration for this home near Russell came from our clients, who wanted the concept to be based off The Boatshed, a boutique hotel on Waiheke Island. Trying to fit this look with their living style, whilst being sympathetic to the colonial character of the seaside town was a challenge but came together nicely.
The home inside had to be zoned into separate living spaces for when the owners had visitors to stay. It also had to be open, sunny, and well connected to the site. This was achieved by giving the home a beach house feel but with secluded spaces to rest in for some quiet time alone.
The Arcline Team started with pencil sketches of five pavilions linked together. The design was then developed further and modelled in 3D with CAD, allowing our clients to see the home in virtual reality. This gave our clients the perfect opportunity to fine tune and tweak the look and layout of their home to suit their living style.
With multiple outdoor deck spaces to the West, and further patio spaces to the East, the home makes the best use of both morning and afternoon sun.
