Located on the north-facing slopes of Paewhenua Island in the Mangonui Harbour is a gated subdivision with its own vineyard, boat ramp and floating jetty. 

Over the last 10 years, Arcline designed several homes on Paewhenua Island.  We were especially excited to design this one, with its stunning location, overlooking the historic Mangonui village with breathtaking views across the harbour to Doubtless Bay.

The development has strict design rules including a five metre height restriction to minimise the visual impact of the homes on the surrounding environment. With this in mind we designed the home with a forward facing mono-pitch roof, and excavated the site to snug the home into the hillside. 

With the garage to the south, there was plenty of scope for stunning water views throughout the home, as seen in the below photography. 

Our clients wanted large outdoor spaces and both a pool and spa pool, complemented by the freestanding louvre pool cabana. 

Included in this project were obviously our amazing clients and Kelvin Marinkovich from Elite Builders and Katie Scott from Sticks+Stones Design. It takes a team to pull together a project of this calibre.
