Kerikeri High School Deans Centre
Over the years, Kerikeri High School has engaged Arcline Architecture in a number of projects around the school on Hone Heke Road, home to around fifteen hundred students.
The school has been working with Arcline since 2007 to complete over twenty new and renovation building projects, maintaining leading edge classrooms and learning spaces for the children to learn in.
In 2016 the high school board approached Arcline with the vision to demolish some old existing buildings at the front of the school and to erect a brand new Deans Centre, otherwise known as ‘Te Puna Waiora’. This would end up as a 387m2 building which was connected to the existing admin building via a enclosed hallway with a ramp & stairs. The building features two entry/open spaces for the Deans of the school to meet their children in, then 15 individual offices, a meeting room and St Johns room, all fully furnished with the schools colors and plenty of natural light.
The roof lines, styled to match the other new buildings around the school, were designed as several mono-pitch roofs, giving the building a modern look, very needed with this building at the forefront of the school property.
Arcline not only designed the building but Project Managed the build, doing weekly visits to the site to check progress and quality of workmanship, and keeping the team from Arco Group in check with deadlines and quality assurance.
All structural engineering, fire engineering, emergency lighting designs and full working drawings were managed by Arcline Architecture, working in sync with a number of external consultants to pull the project together, right from design to the completed building.
